Sterling Johnston try to get a new Film Production working this summer.

The script is well under way and he has most of the props and wardrobe for the film. Jonathon Psaila is interested in playing the Indian Warrior Ghost again. He played the role in the Hallween episode of the QHR Report a few year ago. But maybe Sterling does a casting call and see if he can find someone else is interested in the part.

The plan is to start filming July 2 2012. he need a few crew members because some of the camera work is equipment heavy. You know lighting, dolly tracks, camera cranes and we will be filming way out in the woods some where.

He also need to build a floating platform to do filming off of. Maybe something like a dock or raft.

There is going to be a large cast in this film so transportation and lodging could become a problem.He need any financial support as he can find in the way of Donations in return for perks like free autographed DVDs when the film is finished. Digging Gold

Some Days ago i watched a Documentary about Canada. There was People on the Yukon River digging Gold. The modern way. They mad around 70.000$. I was think why i shouldnt do this and first becaome Filmmaker in Kanada, live there and later go for some months Gold digging to get some money for my next Films.
And me came the Idea for a Film. About a Kid. His Parents House get Sold when they dont pay. So the Kid find out that his Grand GrandDad has a claim, the kid runaway and digging Gold to help his Parents. At the end all is good.

Ransom: Left Alone [Short Film (2012)]

Ransom is a Drama Experimental Short film i planning. Is a kind of Short Film. But an experimenting with the Drama Genre too.
Normal story. Bad guys break into house. Dad get Killed, Mom survives and daughter Kidnapped. They want money. The first Ransom demand goes wrong. They get angry they left the kid alone in the Basement. Bounded without water and food.

IM not sure if i should write a Happy end or not.
And the end is Coming.

Jane´s River 2

Right now i write the second Movie for (Jane´s River). All both Film should be get filmed in Canada. I need help for it. I not good on Directing a Movie.
Jane´ River is one Project that i love the most.

A group of 5 kids and their leader get into an accident with their in the wilderness. Jane the daughter of the leader searching for one of the boys after it. Next day while searching for help the both stumble into an illegal timber camp. They got chase and rescued by the bad guys out of the river. Looked in a cabin and escape with Janes dad. Alone after janes dad got caught by the bad guys. jane and the boy climb up under dangerous from bad guys a ranger lookout and phone for help.

This two Films are me as the lead Actress. Because im short i could play a 14 years old Girl. And we have no Trouble with the UNION Rules. In Jane´s River i mix Ideas from River Wild, A Cry in the Wild and my own ideas together.
I want to make it cheap. Because i dont have money for it. I hope that i can fundraise lots of money. One thing we need is a GoPro Camera, because there are wilderness and water scenes.

But I cant tell when this two Movies wil be made.

I visited the Locations and finished making the Props. Next thing is to prepare your Camera and set a date to filming. But think about the weather. Its always difficult.
(This is a continuation of this post from a week or so back).  If I wanted, I could describe the title is was think of and write here the Story about my Film. I should have a look at this Blog that explains lots about TITLE Making in Hollywood

So it would be no more so interesting for you to read the blog.   These are not facts that I would try to conceal or deny, because I don’t feel that it is in any way “cheating”. Making a short film, one is constantly having to think how the finish Film will look like and get notice. One thing I have learnt as a filmmaker and scriptwriter is that you have to see yourself as a resource, rather than a drain on resources.
Another thing is that i have to do all my myself. Acting, VFX, Editng, Camera and so on. But i like it. I can do what i want and when. Bad thing is that there is no pressure to get finish. Maybe you think now. WTF!?!? Well i am a person thats not motivated for a long time. When something isn’t working like modeling for the VFX Parts i stop. and thats it a unfinished Film AGAIN!  The simple fact is, when it comes to short films, anything you don't make easy for yourself is going to be hard.

Dolphin Tale

Yesterday i watched this Movie. It was great. Great Story and it reminds me about Free Willy. Free Willy is one of my favorite Movies. And here in this Movie its almost same, but not so much dramatic like the stolen Orca Willy. But The Actors are made a great Job. What i think could be better is, when the Herricane is go over the aquarium, Saywer could be more worried about the Dolphin. Thats It.

How to Make a Film (Part One)

I am in the process of trying to make a short film. I thought it might be interesting to write about it from the very start, when nothing is really certain. My natural instinct has the Film already in my head and i wish that all will be work fine. But it would surely be far more interesting to force myself to be honest. And the truth is that the whole process is bound to be a severe learning experience for me more than anyone.
I won’t go into too much detail in this initial post. I had made several of the no-budget Films before.
Like my latest Halloween Short Film
I have written rough Story and all things are almost ready to Film. But there is the weather. WINTER. My Story is written for summer. But autumn is ok but winter is bad, because it includes running around. Breaking a leg before Christmas is not funny.
The next stage is finding Locations. But in my head i found already places to go. This is another preparation. Check your planned Locations before go filming.
At the end i want to tell you something about title a Film. I have already a title that good to know whats the Film about, but not a blockbuster. Hollywood has it easy. There are people that analyze trends and so on. But me as an one person self-making Filmmaker isn’t so easy. Well i hope i will get an Awesome title on the end that people get interested to watch my Short Film. :)  Should you have any interest in witnessing me attempt the above on route to cinematic glory, tune in to Part Two…

Here The STORY!

Young city boy Riley has done it again... and his struggling, single Dad has had enough of him getting into trouble after his mom died one year ago.
Now, Riley has to choose between going down the path of young offenders institution or spending the summer in Echo Beach with his estranged grandfather.

The day after arriving, Riley is ready to leave, after get in trouble with an beachboy.

Suddenly all turns good after Riley meets a girl at the beach at Skimboarding. First love brings him to learn to skimboard. The Teenage thing about Rage and love goes around.

The things are getting sad. Riley saves the girl out of the water from an accident and replace her at a skimboadig competition. In the meantime his grandfather become a heartattack. Riley calls his that but will enter the Skimboard Competition.

Riley soon learns life lessons about friendship, family and responsibility. Through it all, Riley has the most memorable summer of his life.

Do make a Film by yourself its a big thing. A friend of mine is a Director, Producer, Writer, Cameraman, Editor and many more. We do all by himself. well not Acting.
But to make a Movie he needs Money for it. And most he pay it by himself.
hmm thats sad.
What option has someone to get his DVD out there and sell them to pay off his last Movie?
Well i do all by myself too included Acting, because i like it, I know what i do and here is nobody around that want to acting.
Whatever i will try out fundraising for a new Film i want to make in Summer 2012/2013.
Indiegogo.com sound great and Kickstarter.com is nice too.
But whats the difference? Whats better where we get the money fund for sure together.
Great that funraising website like that exists. now i came the idea. when we succesful can financing the big Film, maybe it can help my friend with the Online Web show "You cant do that on Youtube" too. Because all money goes into the Productions for help Kids grow her Acting Career!

But for that I need to do more in editing and acting, directing.
I know since 2 years im not good in directing films even to write and film it by myself. I always end in the middle and the fun is gone.
I think 5 storys wait to be completed. Ahh I think editing, VFX and Acting is my Thing!

VFX or real?

I watched some Film with Digital Effects. For a Movie that i planning i think of a real dog as Wolf or a VFX Dog as Wolf in front of a Green Screen.
This Digital Wolf looks real.

I think for some seconds that will be in the film i will use a dog in front of a Greenscreen. I watched a Film where the Wolf disappear much VFX.

Acting age 13 or 28?

Im very small for my age of 28 years. and im only 4´11 high. So almost everyone thing i am 12-14 years old.
Now the last year i really want to start acting i was think for what role i should audition. Woman 28 years old. or woman/Boy 13/14 years old???????
I wrote boy because like to wear that boy cloth. And then lots of people think im a boy too.
I try to come to the end to acting as young 13. Because nobody would believe im 28. even if i have 28 years looking woman cloth. And if i really need to wear it. i wouldnt feel well.
So i will post a pic from me her and on the side i start a poll. Maybe someone can write or vote there thoughts.

Underwater Videocameras?

What are good Underwater Videocameras?
I planning a Film in that are need to used a Videocamera on a Canoe.
Any suggestions are welcome. I was think about sanyo or a Flip mino with underwatercase.
The Problem is that the sound is terrible under water.
Well i think the most scenes with dialog are over water but needs to be waterproof.
Well we have time to plan. And it depends on the budget what we get. but im exciting to film in water.
Its will be a new experience.

The Greatest Joke ever (2010)

to work on a real Film like "The Greatest Joke Ever" was an huge experience.

I helped to choose the Cast, collect the Props, prepared, Locationscouting, help with on the Script and so on. I helped editing, drove around.

And to see th endresult was the best.

You know what you did, what you love. I love Filmmaking.

Its always stress, but when you see the finish Film. Ahh on that scenes was raining and we got trouble to finish the film.

And btw i came from Germany over to Canada. More problems. I need to talk and organize all in English. Im not good in it.

Whatever i would love to do it my whole life!

Lots of Props i get from a Canadian Friend. And all the other Props and stuff will have a max Budget from 500 Can $. Depend if i hire actors for free or pay for good.

Im so exciting and in big hope to get this story into a film. Because in my head its already a Fim.
